Leo Reardon

Leo Reardon is a Firefighter/Paramedic, and USAR Medical & Rescue Specialist with the Southeastern Massachusetts Technical Rescue Team. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Medicine degree from Purdue and multiple specialty certifications in Technical Rescue, Tactical Medicine, and Emergency Medical Services. He began his career in EMS in 1997 and subsequently joined the US Army as a Combat Medic in the days following 9/11/01. He became a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Canton Fire Department in 2005. He is the Co-Author of the Field Transfusion Paramedic program and currently serves as the EMS Coordinator and Field Transfusion Paramedic Program Director for CFD.

At the NMETC EMS Summit, Leo will be presenting "Blood Is the Future: Transforming Prehospital Trauma Care with Early Transfusion."

An Overview of Massachusetts' first prehospital whole blood transfusion program through the Canton Fire Department. The content will include a review of the science behind the use of LTOWB in trauma, the logistics of operating a prehospital blood program, and a brief review of cases successfully treated by Canton Fire Field Transfusion Paramedics.
